Well thanks Nida, I appreciate your encouragements. I too enjoy those character sketches, so don't worry, there'll be more. New ones of course, but I'm also thinking of going back on some of the
people I've already talked about, because now that I understand more about them, the first reviews are incomplete.
Don't hesitate to do the same, why not? It's not a personal possession!
See you soon on your blog.
cheers
Goodnight Bollyviewer,
Yes, I totally share your appreciation. i think she has great potential, and I'm sure she'll get the roles she deserves. She's got that little extra that will attract directors, and which others
can not be sure to bank on, like Akshaye Khanna, for example.
Hello Alan,
Thanks for coming this way! What do you want me to ay about the freestyle relay? I'd have loved to see the Frenchies win, but hey, it's only sports after all!
When I saw her first movies (years ago) I never thought I'd say that about her! She has certainly come a long way from her Ruk ruk ruk days! Wish she'd improve her Hindi diction and pronounciation the way she has worked on her appearance and acting, but am not complaining! :-D

Hello, Yves!

What a fantastic tribute to an amazing actress and woman! I had no idea Tabu's parents were divorced, as mine were (something I am constantly reminded is a rarity in Indian and Pakistani cultures--my dad is Pakistani, my mom American).

Also love that Tabu is so focused on her career, that she has so much patience for finding her soulmate, and, most importantly, that she is so close to God. That quote about her relationship with Him said it all! I really admire this woman.

I've only seen Cheeni Kum, The Namesake, and Fanaa and realize I have a long way to go in my map of Tabu's beautiful career. Thanks to your post, I have learned so much about her as a person and a professional that I literally cannot wait to get started!

Thank you for the post. I love when you do character sketches/tributes to the actors and actresses. So different than just posting film reviews, as I tend to do on my blog!

Great work, keep it up!

 Hi Shweta,
She did, didn't she?
Comparison wise, I think you're right, Although I haven't seen enough films by the two ladies you mention to make sure. Certainly shes shares with them this generous, unselfish attitude towards her
work. These are women who dedicate themselves totally to what their work means, who want it to serve more than their own personal interest. With Shabana Azmi, this is the very essence of her
pleasure as an actress; I can't tell for Smita Patil.
For me, she strongly resonates with Aiswarya Rai, but she's got more power, more resolve, she's bent on perfection much more. On the other hand, they share this serious, generous attitude. Ash is
more eclectic, and acting is probably not the most important thing in her life. But for Tabu, clearly, it is.

And she is unapologetic about who she is, and what she wants. She really did steal Cheeni Kum from Amitabh- so brilliant!
